Korra & legacy / FIELD NOTES

Korra comics reading order: after the television finale

THE SHORT ANSWER

Finish Book 4, then read Turf Wars followed by Ruins of the Empire. Patterns in Time is a short-story collection, rather than another television season.

A practical reading order

  1. The Legend of Korra, Books 1–4. Finish the television finale first.
  2. Turf Wars, Parts One–Three. This continues the post-finale story, including Korra and Asami's relationship and the consequences of the new portal.
  3. Ruins of the Empire, Parts One–Three. This follows the political aftermath of the Earth Empire conflict.
  4. Patterns in Time. Read this collection for shorter stories rather than expecting the same continuous trilogy structure.

This sequence gives a new reader a clear route through the main post-finale storylines. It is not an assertion that every short story or later publication must fit into a simple linear timeline.

Parts, library editions and omnibuses

A storyline can be sold as individual parts or as a collected edition. Before buying, inspect the contents page or publisher description. A collection may already include all three parts you were about to purchase separately.

Use the Dark Horse Korra catalogue and its publisher reading sheet to compare editions. Availability and packaging can change, so this page does not hardcode a retailer price.

Are the comics required for Seven Havens?

They are useful if you want more of Korra and her immediate aftermath. They should not be presented as a mandatory explanation of every Seven Havens mystery. The new show's premise and episodes remain the source for Pavi's story.

Reading legally

Look for publisher editions, licensed digital editions or library borrowing. This guide links to publishing information and does not host scans. If your aim is simply to understand the final television scene, the ending explainer may answer the question before you choose a book.
