For the fullest first viewing, watch The Last Airbender, then The Legend of Korra, then Seven Havens. You can also begin with Pavi’s new cast if you prefer to discover this era first.
The full route
- Avatar: The Last Airbender introduces Aang, the four elements and the Avatar's place in the world.
- The Legend of Korra follows the next Avatar through four books and 52 episodes.
- Avatar: Seven Havens introduces Pavi and Nisha after a catastrophe changes the setting.
Release order preserves discoveries in the earlier shows and makes the generational connections easier to recognize. It is the clearest route if you already intend to watch everything.
The shorter route
If the new show's trailer is what interests you, start with Seven Havens episode 1. Its new cast and immediate conflict are the entry point. Use short background guides only when you encounter an unfamiliar idea, rather than reading a full spoiler-filled wiki in advance.
The main concepts worth recognizing are bending, the Avatar cycle, the distinction between the human and spirit worlds, and the difference between the Avatar State and access to past lives.
Do you need the comics or films?
The Korra comics continue her post-finale story and are useful for that generation. They are not a substitute for Seven Havens' own episodes. The Aang film and Kuruk's announced series are separate productions; they should not be inserted as mandatory steps without a specific reason.
A spoiler-conscious reading plan
Before watching, use character introductions and the schedule. After an episode, open its guide. Save the Korra ending and Dark Avatar explainers until you are comfortable with spoilers for the older series.
